Paris Air Show 2015: Esterline CMC Electronics Showcases its Innovative Avionics and Cockpit 9000 CNS/ATM Upgrade Solution

(Paris Air Show 2015 – June 15, 2015) Esterline CMC Electronics (CMC) is showcasing its innovative avionics systems and proven Cockpit 9000 CNS/ATM (Communication, Navigation Surveillance/Air Traffic Management) upgrade solution for legacy C-130 and other transport aircraft in the Esterline booth (Hall 5, D250).

Paris Air Show visitors can view CMC`s Cockpit 9000 integrated, digital cockpit that is tailored to the requirements of military transport aircraft. At its core, the company’s latest generation CMA-9000 Flight Management System (FMS) combines with its high-integrity GPS Landing System, to provide a comprehensive solution for all flight phases, from departure to precision approach, and in full compliance with published international CNS/ATM navigational mandates and growth provisions.

The certified Cockpit 9000 solution extends a 20- to 40-year-old aircraft’s service life by another 30 years, at a fraction of the cost of a new aircraft. With Cockpit 9000, maintenance costs are immediately reduced and mission capabilities immediately enhanced. Esterline CMC’s system integration experience includes C-130 cockpit upgrades for more than 10 international customers, including air forces in Austria, Brazil, Chile, Dubai, the Netherlands and Saudi Arabia.

The CMC Cockpit 9000 avionics upgrade provides compliance to all CNS/ATM requirements applicable to

C-130 aircraft, including Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast (ADS-B) Out, Elementary Surveillance / Enhanced Surveillance (ELS/EHSD), Precision Area Navigation (P-RNAV), Required Navigation Performance (RNP) 0.3 and RNP-10, and also provides Localizer Performance with Vertical Guidance (LPV) and Controller-Pilot Data Link Communications (CPDLC) capabilities. CMC’s six-display solution also provides fully integrated tactical capabilities, centralized caution and warning, and NVIS compatible cockpit, cargo compartment and external lighting.
